35% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Noir, 31% Meunier. All stainless steel, with 46 months on lees and 9 g/l dosage. This is a very complete-feeling blend. The Pinots are the star, with lovely blackberry and apple turnover accompanied by some amaretti biscuit richness, fresh raspberry and caramelised pastry notes. There’s a little sea-breeze, creamy lees character here, but it is actually quite open and not at all reductive – malolactic and some good Meunier are helping there, perhaps. Some candied citrus zip and subtle white flower fragrance complete the picture, whilst the palate is actually relaxed with fine texture and perfectly-judged (i.e. transparent) dosage, finishing with delicious touches of brioche dough.
