The blend varies a little for the Bloomsbury Brut NV, but is always around 60% Chardonnay with the balance Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, all fermented stainless steel with around 18 months on lees (this does vary). This is one of the most visible English Sparkling Wines, so it’s good to see it in rude health. It really is the archetypal light-footed Ridgeview Chardonnay-led style, with its snappy blend of lemon zest and ripe yellow fruits. Lightly textured, yet balanced and not trying too hard to puff its chest out.
